While I’ve never directly thought about hurting myself, on occasion when I was down, I’d have the a thought along the lines of “this is the point where people start thinking about hurting themselves,” which I think is indirectly the same thing, though it never got to the point of changing the subject from others to me.
That seems like an excellent place to stop!
